Help and advice please before I jump in.........

I am returning to LR after selling my Disco 3 for a Merc CLS as my new company would not let me fuel a 4x4, turns out they will......

Been offered a swap for mine (my CLS is worth about £16.5-17k) for a FFRR Vogue 54reg in black with grey leather, 20" vogue alloys with the SC grille and side grilles update. Tints etc. FLRSH, 73k, good tyres, overall looks great. Has a superchip on it etc. Disapointed it is pre-facelift so has the older nav system etc.

What do you think it is worth and is it a good deal?

Talking to another guy who has a bog standard 05 facelift vogue in black with tan, 78k but I would want to put different wheels on it, tints, grille etc. but he is not back in the country until Oct and I am like a kid in a sweet shop.

What were the other differences between the 54 and the 05 apart from the screen?

Thanks in advance, cannot wait to be a LR owner again.

Thanks Scarey, I am in Cheltenham so will see you on the A419!!

I take it the non-touchscreen does without 4x4 info and only has analogue tv, otherwise I take it that it will be like the Disco one? Would be gutted not to have rear cam !!!

Do you think the 54 reg vogue with 72k for c. £16.5-17k sounds about right?

Thanks again guys.

Can't answer your question, but welcome... Thumbs Up

Someone will be along soon to answer your questions, Scarey's probably right though...

Hello milesg_01 Thumbs Up - I would try to find a Range Rover with the touch screen (if I were you Whistle )

Not many on here are happy with the earlier sat nav/tv screen - from what I understand they have become quite dated with regards road/map information and a touch screen is a lot easier to use.

Having said that - i'm not sure what values the 05 spec with touch screens are fetching at present - but there must be a few available out there that suit your budget - and Black is a popular colour also.

You get a better ride quality with 19" wheels (cheaper tyres also) but 20's do look better.

All the other bits you mention are easily available on eBay etc. - so you can obtain these as and when.

I have heard some Performance chips can cause problems with the engines - other members will be able to advise you more on which are recommended

Are you wanting a Petrol or Diesel Range Rover?

Thanks again guys, great help I have come to expect from these forums!

I am ideally after a TD6 or LPG'd petrol.
Like Silver with blue / black with tan or grey / Grey with black or tan / etc.

I need to put my CLS on autotrader but have so far had it on pistonheads and keep getting asked for swaps.....

+1 what delamo says .....

ahh the great a419 , the one road you can travel fairly fast on...the touch screen still has analogue tv and on mine i dont have a rear cam probably because mine was made when the crossover from bmw to ford happened...that price looks fairly good but i would look for a touch screen one cos you will regret it if you dont .. ... - .- -.

Rolling Eyes Hmmmm...

Unfortunately - I think nbunney has a point.

Just had a quick look through the classifieds and it seems that there isn't much choice unless your spending £20K +

Spotted this one on eBay however...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2005-RANGE-ROVER-VOG...mobiles_UK

It doesn't mention that it has touch-screen sat nav but looking at pictures in gallery it looks like it may have it judging by the type of buttons - might be worth checking out Whistle

Nice low miles also...

They might do a deal milesg_01 Wink

Thanks guys, first one seems a bit pricey but both look good.

Would need to sell mine I am sure.

My mind is still nagging about the 54reg non-touchscreen as a straight swap, seems clean, got the bits on I would want (tints, wheels, grille etc) without having to pay extra for them and saves messing about. Would like a touchscreen but most would be more cash / not poss to do a swap or deal with.....

Pondering..........

PS - did the non touchscreen have 4x4 info on it?

Really?

I only wanted 20k for mine. And that's a Facelifted 55 plate with 64k miles and full history.

with respect to you two chaps, i would have liked to have £20+ to spend and i agree at that price you can get a really nice FFRR, but i for one didnt have that kind of a budget and in the end i got the best spec i could for my budget...i think mileg_01 might be in the same boat as i was... ... - .- -.
