So the plastic bit that's at the top of the bonnet beneath the windscreen that gathers all the leaves and crap is severley faded. Any good products out there to restore it or can it be easily replaced?

That piece of trim is faded on mine too as it also was on my TD6. On that I used an old bottle of silicone based tyre gel (which I'd never really used on tyres) and it came up a treat.

The nut oil idea is a good (cheap) one. I cannot believe that my life has come to watching this guy smear peanut butter over his car.

Yep peanut butter works amazingly well. I have also seen people use heatguns (carefully) on the plastic and that also seems to bring it back to a fresher newer look too. Tom

On a serious note........

I think that that nut oil probably has all all sorts of natural (cheap) qualities. But.....just be aware that if it's sticky it could attract all sorts of bugs and mites.

The silicon stuff is probably best. For a price mind.......

Peanut butter is sticky, but ground nut oil just soaks in really easily.

Yep, I've used peanut oil (must be the smooth one though) and does appear to work, I used it on the black trim at the base of the windscreen/around the windscreen wipers (and also on the A and D columns). Its like any other product though - doesn't last too long and you need to put it on regularly (in my experience) . Steve
