Suicide doors probably means lesss rigidity .
I wonder if the doors will still close after some actual off roading .... ????
Otherwise the fact that the disco uses the 405 underbody is a good point .
remember the Disco 1 was using the Classic RR chassis !!! .  Jaybear

I like it. It will be interesting to see how close the production version is. They are often toned down a but. I really like the D3/4 now, but it did take some getting used to.

The little tweaks and changes can be important. I do NOT like the exterior of the P38. However, when you see one with lights and a grill nicked from a L322, you realize they could easily have made a much nicer looking car.

Okay, here's one problem I saw when reading about it. New FFRR. It's had excellent press and is an excellent car. The one complaint I keep hearing is that the 'infotainment' screen is not up to that of other luxury cars. The Discovery's new high tech gizmos sound VERY cool. However, if I had the money for a new L405, I think I'd be saying, "Hey, hold on! Where is all this stuff on my car?" And then wait a year or so for the new tech to reach it.

I tell you what, I wish I had my old P38 back on the drive instead of the L322 we have at the moment! We had the P38 for 11 years and it never, ever let us down or failed to start, at one point it went without a major service for 2 years, always started, whatever the weather!

We p/exed it for this L322 3 years ago in which we have done approx 20k miles, it now has just over 100K on the clock, I know why, it spends most of its time at the bloody dealers being repaired!

Purchase cost £11,500, current spend on service / repairs, around £20k (including the £1650 paid yesterday to get it through its MOT!)

I think you need to speak to your (nearly local ) friendly indie sir
