Ok, I am not CTC and I won't pretend to be either...but after being told I'd need to wait around 3-4 weeks to get my car in mates paint and wrapping workshop just to do a few bits I decided to go for it;

stage 1 - roll car into garage, mask up, rub down with WnD, primer, 4 coats ford stardust silver paint as thats what i had on the shelf, 4 coats laquer...leave in heated garage over night...

stage 2 - roll car back out and take photo for you lot !

...yes I know it's subtle....I like it that way Mr. Green

Top job Nick Thumbs Up

Ok, so here's my first run with this vinyl wrapping stuff. To be honest once it's heated, and with a flat surface it's very easy to work with...however if there are any curves and changes in direction its goes like warm cling film or chewing gum so not that easy. I wish I had waited for a second pair of hands to hold heat gun but nonetheless I am pretty chuffed with my job and the whole thing cost £5.14 Thumbs Up

I am going to redo it in the summer when the air is warmer and I have more light and time, but for now here is what I have done with a touch over a fiver, not much patience and very little time !

Mr. Green

Nick, i love the wrapped lover black parts on your doors Thumbs Up Where did you get the wrap etc etc etc please pal Thumbs Up

My original plan was to paint the lower doors (well the actual plan was a 2012 upgrade but apparently holidays and a new roof on the conservatory is more important)

Even with my very limited skillset and tiny garage/workshop the paint wasn't too bad, it can be done....I do have a reasonable amount of patience and that helps with wrapping I found...mine was a 3rd attempt in daylight with my 10 year old son and his mums hair dryer !!

Am very much looking forward to seeing some Irish Wrapping now Whistle , and when us weekenders have finished messing to see some Pro work (CTC) would be good too Thumbs Up

I have since (to finish off the small roll and as I am a tight ar54) done the dash in the wife's honda jazz ! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Craig, all I would say is use a good alcohol clean on the plastic and use a warm workshop or a sunny day, the wrap acts very differently when naturally warm - we all know its like chewing gum when you apply a heat gun but I found it much easier to use in warm daylight...common sense I know, but no one told me Rolling Eyes

best of luck Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
