Agreed re G3. Brilliant stuff and can be machine or hand applied.

This previous post was about the very issue of scratched window trim:

I machine polished (with a Farecla machine polishing foam pad) all of the factory matt black finish window trim and without damage, it comes up a very attractive gloss finish. That finish can also be achieved via firm hand pressure when applying the G3 too.

Not sure if the L405 materials are the same as the L322 materials though.

Halfords are currently selling a double foam hand applicator Meguiars pack (one coarser one for use with scratch remover and one for polish application) reduced to only £3.99 which I though was good value and they are very good to use.

G3 is a course cutting paste, better with G10 if you can. Personally I wouldn't use cutting compound for the plastic trim I would use MER or AutoGlym or similar, they have a small amount of cutting compound but nothing as harsh as the Farecla
