Starter issue

Occasionally on first attempt at starting there is only a click and no turnover . when resetting the key and trying again the engine turns over and starts .
Anyone come across this ?

Yes, do a search; it's been seen before several times, my old car included (07 TDV8). The ones I can remember are:

Battery terminal connections
Starter cable connections
Solenoid on starter.
Engine earth strap

Mine turned out to be the actual starter itself which I replaced.
