Rolling with laughter thanks - I'll make sure I don't run either of them over... !

Will definitely get some pics up if they are worthy...

Do you know anywhere I can hire off-road vehicles at decent rates as the normal rental companies (Avis, etc.) charge a fortune for these MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

would prefer 4WD if it's reasonable so we can do some scenic places but if price difference is too big then will stick to sedan.

We are currently finding a sedan is about UK£270 for 17 days and Nissan qashqai (not 4wd) is about UK£330 MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

These are fair prices to be honest, or you are going to drive a SW Ford Falcon if you want to pay less (been there, done that, loved it!)

Land Cruiser are easy to find around the country for are about AU$120 a day all in + fuel.

We got a (hard to find for rental) Defender 110 from around that price to discover the Victorian Alps - wonderful. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

thanks verydisco...

tbh won't mind the ford falcon either as long as it's an easy drive as SWMBO is not going to be driving...although i'll wait for the inevitable "this isn't as comfy as the FFRR" ... Censored

I think we'll just hire a normal car and then if we find somewhere we want to go that needs a 4WD, we can just get it for the day if it's worth it. MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

TBH the only way to hire a semi decent offroader is to do it topgear stylee.

Buy it and flog it when done with it but that would be well into 4 figure sums for something decent. There are plenty of Jeep Grand Cherokees about round the £1k mark but mostly all petrols with a few miles under them but should be safe bets if serviced before you go althought thirsty on the juice. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
