When I took delivery of mine and it had the knocking the moment I drove down the road from the dealer I seriously considered giving it back. The fact that there is no credible alternative made me more open to having it fixed than I would otherwise have been. It is now fixed and the dealer did a very good job of handling the situation so I am happy I stuck with it because overall it is a great car.

...steering the topic back to MY15 engines...

Does anyone have any knowledge, insight or hunch on what September (or later this year) might bring, engine-wise?

Thanks.

I wouldn't call the G-class a novelty.
I do like the fact it has stayed true to its origins though.
It doesn't try to be aerodynamic or to be fashionable.
I quite like it. Sure it is not as comfortable but it is built like a tank and will last a life time, something I wouldn't say of the L405.

Maybe the 2.0L 16V TIVCT T/C 240PS petrol engine could find its way under the L405's bonnet, with an electric powertrain... Censored Mr. Green

After all Topix lists this engine for the 2014 SSRR!

The new four-cylinder was always going to be in the Sport. Car magazine quoted someone from JLR as saying it hadn't been ruled out for the proper one, but I can't really see it.

I would imagine that the petrol engines will remain unchanged but the diesels will definitely get ammonia SCR systems.

Changes are definitely coming for 15MY to engines and exhaust systems.

My money is on this...

JLR are heavily involved with this technology and indeed this Company. Although I think the all-new Volvo XC90 will be first to market at the end of this year - I could be wrong mind! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Cheers,

Steve
