Same "scam" applies to renewing your license. My son moved out and got caught by this "service" when he changed his address. It's very misleading and convincing for the unwary.

Censored

Ps, re-taxed my car today and paid the figure on the renewal letter Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

These scam e-mails are an utter nightmare.

I had the one this morning saying the the results of my blood test (which I haven't had) look abnormal and unfortunately they suspect cancer............

Is there any limit to how deep this scum will sink to? 2006 4.2 SC

Yeah, that one was widely reported. The issue with the road tax and license renewals is much more subtle. If you do a search for what you think is a UK agency, these sites come up first, thus catching out many more people.
Apparently the banks are now looking into them, as so many people have been duped. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

OK, so are they actually taxing your vehicle for a "fee" or just scamming you of the money and doing nothing? 2006 4.2 SC

Yes, they're taking money from you by pretending to do something for a fee that you can do for free yourself, if you get to the proper government website.

With the driving license renewal, their claim is that they "check" the form for you before submission, but in reality all they do is print out what you've put on the form and sent if to you in an envelope that's got the DVLA address on it (without a stamp) Censored Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just re-taxed my FF for 12 months @ £280.00. I always get the reminder letter and do the renewals online.

The letter gives the web address to use, I've done it this way for the last few years, but have seen all the scam websites.

Seems they're not just limited to tax discs, there's also PPI companies, Debt Management Companies..in fact you name it, there's a company out there willing and ready to rip off the unwary, etc. Ruddy scumbags, the lot of them!!

Scam sites abound freely - my wife nearly paid £100 last year for a European health Card which is free. Twisted Evil

It's about time the totally useless individuals who reside (at our expense) in the palace of westminster started doing something useful, and making these scams illegal!! Thumbs Up
