The issue with LPG on the DI petrols (which the 5.0 is) is that if they are not cooled with fuel running through them the injectors burn at the tips. One solution has been to run a little petrol all the time at about 10% of the overall fuelling. Personally I remain to be convinced and time will tell.

I do agree though, if you're that bothered about economy then buy the diesel, which will always have a higher resale value incidentally, so that 10k more you quote will come back pro-rata at resale time. Even the early Td6's fetch proportionally more than the same age V8.

I've never been able to get 22-25 MPG, 17 MPG is more realistic. Less if you floor it but even though the performance is really good you don't tend to use it that much, only occasionally.
It is not a car to drive at its maximum performance all the time, you would be better off buying a Cayenne if you want to drive it like a sportscar.

Master Tech at main dealer told me that a few years ago someone bought a 4.2SC from their garage, had LPG conversion done early into ownership and it damaged the engine at a cost of £8k to repair it as warranty and good will did not apply due to the conversion.
