Looking at the prices for clean classic rr and the prices for tidy early L322s being around 5k, does anyone think a tidy L322 will go much lower?

Over time yes. Cars always depreciate (excepting rare exotica of course) but it's just the rate which slows down.

I think decent examples won't go much lower.... you just start seeing worse poorly maintained examples more and more often  Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

Perhaps they will get like the series 3 XJ Jags, in that anyone who has a good one will tend to keep it.......

Well put it this way, a decent P38a still fetches £4K+ but a knacker is £400...

Look at the 2nd hand cost of engines etc, that's usually the cut off point in depreciation (breaking costs)

I think the early ones have hit that level, specially due to the price of the BMW engines.
