Prison diary

Its a sobering read and shows how easily things can go badly wrong.

I don't think its a problem for us FFRR drivers, but someone should post this in the RRS forum as I honestly think some of them would treat their RRS as sport car Rolling Eyes

It is a potential problem for any driver Exclamation

Everyone is capable of being late for a meeting or a family member or friend and puts the foot down a bit more to catch up. Easily done. It could be a B Road, A Road or Motorway.

I have been in a serious car accident which could have been fatal and thank god no one was killed or seriously injured. That incident had a major effect on my driving

EVERYONE PLEASE DRIVE WITH CARE

Excellent read. Quite compelling. Will keep a look out for the rest of it.

One of the posts had this attached:

Worth showing to any boy racers you know.

I think we've all done some daft driving at some point or other. Some do it as a matter of course. A mate of mine drives like a C#nt all the time and wonders why he has points on his license and is always getting pulled by the police (most people mellow with age, to him it just means being able to buy faster cars!). I'm going to send him the link in the hope he finally realises that the consequences of being a tw#t are more serious than increased insurance premiums and some points.

A point to note (even if stating the obvious) would be that driving a 4x4 (any 4x4) means that driving too fast on windy roads can lead to more than just "loosing the back end", as the higher centre of gravity is more likely to have you seeing sky, then tarmac, sky, then tarmac etc.

That's very hard hitting stuff indeed! Being 16, just a few months till I can drive, I hope I don't end up doing something extremely stupid!
Has to be said, the attitude is mostly more a "It won't happen to me" sort of thing.
Was coming home down a country lane a couple of nights before new year, some twonk in the year above me had put his car on it's roof. He says that he wasn't going to fast, but to put his car on the roof and end up where he was, yeah right! Rolling Eyes Road was so icey I almost couldn't walk on it! Luckily, no one was seriously injured, all wearing seatbelt, etc. Some minor bruising, etc. Was just a bit scarey to see an empty car on it's roof with all its lights on! Maverick off disco3!

When I was 16 some of my year-mates were turning 17 and driving, one lad was out in his knackered old Suzuki with 3 mates, going too fast on a country road, lost control, head on smash with a lorry, all 4 died instantly. Impact so severe apparently their internal organs ruptured through to the outside world....horrible. Discovery 4 HSE
