I am going to change the colour of the Foundry (corrected) grey dash control panels and nav screen surround to a darker metallic charcoal to match the colour of the newer 2010 model panels. Does anyone have any recommendations on the paint to use?

The only thing I can find that might be similar is stove paint which I am not sure will work well on plastic parts. Tom

You could try model paint I think its enamel based. There are a few online companies with colour palettes so you might be able to find a good match.I think thats what Daveo did a member on here. Btw is it easy to remove the aircon panel as I need to replace a button  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I saw on powerful's site the stages for removing the central panels and top dash for the nav unit. I have bought spares of all the facia panels from the bay so will do some trials before taking my dash apart.

I have ordered some charcoal 3m metallic wrap (3M 1080 m211) from the US which looks similar and should be easier than painting. Either way should be an interesting project as I have never liked the cheap looking Brunel finish on the interior trim. I will upgrade the dial surrounds at the same time too. Tom

It's actually foundry finish on the dash..... brunel grey is the colour of the lettering and side vents etc on the exterior of the early cars  Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
Gone: Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue, Zambezi Silver, Charcoal Oxford Leather
Also: Mk1 Audi TT 1.8T Quattro, Brilliant Black

I wrapped the lower ones with some carbon fibre looking wrap, never got round to the one round the screen - its on the list  Geoff

On our 2005 "55" we painted that lot in PIANO BLACK i could probably dig out a pic if it would help sir?

Does look a lot better even in gloss black, especially on the nav surround. I have the walnut trim, so not sure the black would match as well as yours has Craig. I have ordered some charcoal wrap which I hope has a similar finish to the genuine LR darker shade. Tom
