Not being funny but with no wreckage a few days in it was inevitable they were to finally find out it had flown the coop.

I bet if you asked the NSA/GCHQ they would know where it was going and if not then that would be a wee bit worrying....

Odds on its been crashed or landed into one of the islands and will be launched again from there for some not very nice purpose.

Sadly I think the chances of anyone not important enough that was on that flight still being alive are all but gone.

A startling turn of events showing that security is still pretty lax at some airports and institutions.

Thoughts go out to the families that have been affected by this.

But on the other hand if they did turn up with a Mayo/Chilli Chicken it would be quite funny/surreal FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

In these days of global intellegence and tracking, i find it hard to believe that we can lose an entire airliner......

Was there no one travelling with any form of gps tracking device...... Iphone, ipad etc.both of which send the info to apple?

Someone knows where it has gone, if you were hijacking it with the sole purpose
Of crashing it, then why fly it for 5-7 hours further on, and not just crash it into the sea there and then.

Only thing is landing it requires at least a 10,000ft runway i would think. And there arent many of those which are abandoned, or unmanned. So where to land it without being seen?

Total mystery! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I bet the yanks know exactly where that plane is, there must have been at least one mobile sending out tag signals, never mind the engines, its being played well down for some reason. We are in the 21st Century, how can radar, spy satellites and radio signals not have picked something up - I just feel very sorry for the unfortunate passengers and their relatives, I just hope its not been seized and going to be used for another purpose.

I find it amazing. I took some flying lessons, (got licence, but still a beginner) and remember being told, that ALL airspace over 18000' was controlled and there was big trouble being up there when you're not where you're supposed to be. (What I flew would never get to 18K, do I didn't worry.)

With satellites, radar, other aircraft and ships, the fact that it wasn't tracked seems inconceivable. I can't believe all those countries aren't bothered about who may be flying overhead. Okay, Northern Canada and the Antarctic ARE places you can get lost in, but Southeast Asia is not exactly unpopulated.

BTW cell phone towers are set up for ground based customers, so they don't work as well at 35000'. However, given the connectedness of the modern world, they should be able to get the passengers' cell phone ID numbers and see if any pinged a tower after the disappearance.

It's like the disappearing Vulcan from THUNDERBALL. However, a military jet on a secret mission should be a heck if a lot stealthier than a civil airliner full of passengers. Sad

Fair comment on the phones, but some Malaysia planes have built in passenger wifi, as such gps tracking from iPads etc would be able to function and report if any of the passengers was so inclined.....

The fact that they didn't if the plane seemed to be under threat is odd. Unless all coms we're shut down, which again would imply a deliberate act. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've yet to hear the news interview a pilot who has actually regularly flown in that area....
My brother is a pilot and spent many months flying that area. They do not have the radar coverage that we have, everyone assumes that radar covers the whole area. He told me that on some 4.5 hour flights he might be covered by radar for only 1 hour.... Previously..
