Front bumper removal

How difficult is it to remove the front bumper (for painting)? Are there any diagrams showing how to do it?
Couldn't find any on youtube. Thx! Mike

As it happens im doing mine at weekend. Firstly open the bonnet and remove front grill. Also on inner wing liner each side you will see a bolt these need to be removed. Then you need to get underneath and remove the bolts that connect the undertray to the bumper. Once grill is removed there are a number of philips large head type screws that hold the bumper on. Once all these are removed you need to pull the bumper out from the side and pull forward. I would suggest having a second person hold the other end and have something soft like an old sheet underneath to rest bumper on . Be careful when removing as you need to disconnect the washer jet hose the parking sensor loom and the fog light loom. If you pull bumper away too quickly you risk damaging these connections otherwise. Hope that makes sense but its pretty easy really. Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

It is very easy - there is a thread on here if you do a search with a diagram showing the location of all of the screws (including a couple that were not obvious).

Took me about 15 mins or so... 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

LOL - I actually surprised myself and it took less time to get it back on (although I did replace two screws as they were corroded). 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

No, it's a pretty simple job by all accounts.

I am known here for my total lack of any skill or luck surrounding anything remotely technical........ Big Cry 2006 4.2 SC

I'm very good at watching other people do it for me and chipping in with the occasional piece of technical advice though...... Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

It's about ten screws that hold it on, surprisingly easy.
