Summers are continentals but think they are suffering on the edges so might change to Pirellis winters are pirellis ice and snow from what I am led to believe the pirelli winter is a better tyre think it is newer but these have been brilliant. I do a 110 mile each way commute leaving at 5 am so often sub 7c and been great in what little frost I saw.

Think it is the size of the brembo callipers that restricts wheel choice

Yes, you can fit bigger wheels to the TD6, but you can't fit the smaller wheels to the supercharged - as far as I understand it.

I run Pirelli Winters on 20's and they're great, even in mild weather.

Yes when these are done I will change from ice and snow to winters

I got the wife's 08 tdv8 up to 38mpg average on a run from arundel to duxford. Traffic was surprisingly light, ac off, cc off, manual gears, rse on and 50mph. Current plan is to take her up to about 120,000m or 10-12 years and then start sniffing at an l405 hybrid, assuming they work. The only downside of this car is the tax and normal mpg which averages at 25.6mpg on the school run.
