Handsfree Phone Microphone - Which Part - Other Suggestions

The quality of the calls on my Handsfree deteriorated a few weeks ago. I have an updated Bluetooth module fitted and all was fine when first fitted. I had fitted my PURE DAB and initially thought that maybe this was causing interference, however, I have removed this and still the phone quality is poor.

I have tried a couple of iphones 4, 4S, 5 & 5s as well as a LG phone and all sound similar. I can hear the caller fine and the phone works and connects as it should. However, the person I am calling says that they can hardly hear me and it sound like I am under water/there is water running over me. I have been on the receiving end of calls made as a test and confirm what they hear is very poor.

As the problem seems to be only with the outgoing sound I was thinking of changing the Microphone for a new or updated unit. The incoming sound is clear and of a good volume

Anyone able to confirm which is the best microphone (assume it is the round thing in the overhead front console), I have found these two alternatives:

Range Rover Long Phone Microphone

Range Rover Round Mircophone

Not sure if these would work or if there is a better unit to try.

Also any other suggestions of what could be wrong if not the mic. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Had something similar in the 80's to support my NEC phone on my shoulder as it was so heavy to hold but worked great as handsfree especially as the calls were kept short due to the high cost per minute 33p to 50p per min in 1989.

Back to the original post anyone know what mic is best if indeed this is likely to be the problem. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Still need help to try and sort sound quality on the hands free. Mic replaced and no difference. Also removed Pure DAB and aerial in case it was causing interference but again no improvement. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

any ideas on what could be wrong or ways to try and test.

I have fitted new mic and no difference and I have the updated Bluetooth module in the boot that was working fine abd shows no signs of water damage etc.. (was a replacement module that was updated).

Problem is only with outbound sound quality. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Excuse my ignorance but is the mike in the light unit in front of sunroof. I have new Bluetooth unit and all has been working fine but last day or two, I can hear callers but they can't hear me. Have tried all the normal master resets but the lack of microphone carries on. Previous to replacing the module, others said my voice was very quiet or distant but this improved when new module was fitted. TDV8 Vogue SE 2009.
