Not a simple fix, a few of us have had this happen for all to return to normal and never recur. There are two senders in the fuel tanks and the dash takes an agregate reading, either one of the sensors is a little dicky or the dash is t reading them properly.

I'll fill it tomorrow and see what happens, although think I'll be on the phone to my local dealer on. Monday |

Happened to me about 2 months ago. On full warranty so off it to my friends Adam and Steve at Harwoods Edenbridge and they sorted me out. New connectors and all well, car valeted and everyone happy. Apparently its a big job as they have to drop the tank to do the work. Would have cost over £400 without the Approved Warranty - ouch! Still as a loyal LR customer I'm sure they would make a contribution. No problems since the work was done either. |

Sender unit had failed. Its a common known issue on Discovery's & RRS's , but turns out Full Fats are potentially prone to it as well ( a certain range of chassis numbers ) . Ripon reckon they don't see many FF's with the senders failing.

I have just had exactly this happen, so will be getting Harwoods to look into it (and continue chasing the strange unidentified sound from the dash!). Reassuring to come on here and find this info - thanks to all the previous contributors! |

Mines does it from time to time, I tend to fill it up and reset the trip computer then I start looking for a petrol station at about 350 miles, I guess one day I'll either fix it or get it fixed properly but it only does it every now and again but then again it needs fixing. Geoff |

...and it's back on! I will be making sure I reset the trip every time I fill up. |

Sounds like a new sender is needed. They are not cheap but I got one off LR direct for a decent price a while back, though I think in the end they made a loss on it....... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
