Cross check for my pre-trip list, please

It's been many years since I took my car to France. I'm certain whenever it was, they were using Francs and not Euros.

Never say never, and all that, and I'm off over there in the RR at the beginning of next month. So, what's on my list?

- car insurance cover extended to Europe.
- RAC cover ditto.
- take the hiz viz/breathalyser kit
- got the telepeage blipper to be stuck onto the windscreen.
- adjust headlights to driving on the wrong side of the road.
- take spare engine oil and windscreen washer fluid
- take V5 and cert of insurance
- don't go nuts with speed on the autoroutes (cruise control at 145kph ok?)
- remember to drive on the right.

What have I missed? Range Rover 4.2 SC
AM V12VS
Porsche 991.1 Turbo S
Mini JCW conv

You should have hi viz for everybody on board but only drivers needs to be available in the car.
The breathtest kits are still a grey area so I would take one.
Triangle and spare bulbs (not required for Xenon headlights for some reason)
travel insurance?
enjoy your trip Mine was a blue one! Smile

Hi viz for everyone? Damn. That's a PITA/waste of money.

Good point about the spare and the jack.

Have a magnetic GB oval - no GB/Euro stars on the plates, unfortunately.

Music - will load an ipod.

Speed limits I know. Presumably they have some degree of tolerance over there though. Range Rover 4.2 SC

Seriously, why are you going there with all those rules? I don't drink but must carry a breathalyser?

I avoid driving in France as much as I can. If I was in Spain and needed to get to Belgium I'd head South to Gibraltar, then drive all the way round North Africa, through Syria, just to avoid driving through France.

Nice country, but not to drive in.
