I should think they mean stripping down the whole parking brake at the disc/drum area and freeing it off. As I posted recently, very few people who drive autos use the hand break, preferring to put the vehicle in park when stopping at lights ext, hence they seize up. |

My MOT guy advises using the parking brake every time you use the vehicle, saves all the hassle of components seizing |

Thanks. However, every time the car is used and brought to a stop, the foot brake is applied, neutral selected and the park brake applied. Only after it has secured itself and the car is "parked up", P is then selected before the ignition is turned off

That would be about right everything seems to be a maintenance issue. |
