Firstly, Hi - A new owner and forum member !

I recently took the plunge and bought an 07 SC and so far really enjoying the car and getting used to all it has to offer. However, the previous owner had an aftermarket Tony Banks exhaust fitted which is a bit too loud for me so I'm considering looking for a standard item to replace it.

How loud or quiet is the standard item ?

I do like a bit of a rumble but the one I have at the moment is just a bit OTT

Very refined & quiet, esp from Drivers Seat with windows up.
Even if you give it some beans, I don't think you would consider it loud.
Only time I hear a decent exhaust note is when I am standing behind it and SWMBO drives away. Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

Too quiet really, until you get between buildings or in a slow moving traffic jam when heads turn at the rumble/woofle! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

I've found a s/h oem on ebay for £300 ish all in inc fitting etc, I could try and recoup a few quid on the one I already have I suppose.

Having read up on how best to go about buying a used SC I ignored most of it and bought the first one that took my fancy so some reassurance (or otherwise!) that I haven't bought a bag of spanners wouldn't go a miss
