So here is a thought to all the great people on this forum, imagine the FFRR had not been invented. What car would you buy instead? Me, maybe a 7 series BM, a Cayenne, a Jeep....no nothing to compares in my view, but would be interested in your views! SDV8 AB MY 2019

As I have had a Toyota LC vx 80 series a few years ago, the 4.5Ltr 6 potter petrol, I would be in a LC 100 Amazon now, V8 obviously they are a great truck and fantastic tow machine, even today the Mrs says I should of gone that way but as we already have a few Green Ovals in the family it would be rude not to have the FF in the fold!
I did go through the merc faze where a C class amg might fit in....but its a 'car'...., I did get better from that illness, I just don't do normal cars  If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Until I got my FF, I would have said a fast, large(ish) saloon, like an M5, but now I can't really think of anything that would come close to the overall package that the FF offers. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I've had a few 4x4's used for work/towing and my daily drive.

Nissan Patrol x2 very good work horse, towing a 3.5 tons daily delivering stables so a lot of off road work also. I did blow one up and had a Datsun 280z engine etc dropped in it

Bought a couple of lorries so towing was no longer required.

Vauxhall Frontera bought in a fit of madness, yes it was
Mercedes ML not the best off road but sat in the outside lane at 100 mile an hour all day long.
Mitsubishi L200 Animal bought without test driving, big mistake. Possibly the worst handling vehicle I have ever driven.
Discovery 3 HSE, owned for over three years and still enjoy driving it, so much so I drove 3k miles in 3 weeks around Europe 6 up. Good off road towing capability. So has to be my choice

As I don't need an offroader, but I do need a good towcar I'd probably go with a D3...or D4... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I think probably a D3 or D4 although an M5 is a tempting thought. Still have a soft spot for the original Saab T16S. Good ones are few and far between and are going up in value SDV8 AB MY 2019

I loved that car, power without end, great comfort a little thirsty and very reliable.

It would have to be a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but a better "off-roader" (in every sense of the word) would have to be the R22. Its just a tad more thirsty but a hell of a lot of fun

The Cayenne is an amazing tool...0-60 in 4.5s is enough for anybody

The R22 Lycoming engine is a pretty good unit but not a good as an SC...its only 4 cyl normally aspirated...i've got more power in my sunroof motor than that thing Was a bit twitchy in the winds this morning for a quick trip from LBA to the Yorkshire Show ground.....nearly a brown trouser day  GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus
