Indeed. My wife is fluent Catalan and Spanish and I also speak enough Spanish to get by. Neither one of us are British as it happens and though no linguist I speak enough French not to start a conversation in English. My wife and I have lived in quite a few different countries. Catalunya, especially Barcelona is also a little funny with languages. You speak Spanish and often they will only reply in Catalan, at which point I pass the phone to my wife, where she speaks Spanish and they speak Catalan back. Highly amusing to say the least. Andorrans as you know are incredibly nice people and seem always to make more effort. Never had a bad experience there in the 10 years I've lived here.

Yes, I think you can have a bad experience anywhere but nowadays you can check if a place is reputable before booking and that saves many pitfalls. Lots of tourist traps in St Tropez as well but if you know the good spots it is a dream (and probably outside of the top season). Sorry for the off topic guys.

I suggest you both try living in Sicily. Better weather, better food, better wine. Take out a decent warranty with international breakdown cover and then keep your fingers crossed. Whistle

I wish I had the dosh to buy a l405. I'd give it a go Very Happy Travelling around in circles again.

I visited Sicily recently and loved the place. I stayed in Taormina... but I must confess I stayed at a hotel which is connected to Relais & Chateaux which is... you guessed it French! Laughing

All this on a car that is 2000 KLM old and just out of service for turbo scavenge line modification.

I'd be giving the dealer a really hard time about these faults. We know that the cars come out of Solihull in a 'less than finished' state, and the build has to be checked and finished by the dealers!

If we, as buyers, know that they can be troublesome, the delaer should be even more aware and be thorough in their Pre-Delivery Checks - sounds like your dealer didn't bother even looking at the car - just nailed the plates on and out the door!

Here is another to the list I have already given,

#6, Took car on corrugated road day before taking it in to fix faults and had the front end suspension rattling making sounds like the it was going to fall apart plus feed back through the steering column, I think something was wrong with both shock absorbers seemed fine on normal road driving just the occasional bump on some surfaces. However sounded truly horrible off road. I will await the verdict from the dealers its been a few days so far waiting for the reply.

Hi all the car is now back after one week in the shop, All faults fixed up nicely ! All but one, the one about the front shock absorbers making thumping chattering noise over corrugated roads. Land rover seem to think this is normal, I do not agree as the back does not make any noises on the same corrugated roads only the front shock absorbers make the noise. I think their may be some design fault at play here. as the dealership checked and tighten all front suspension components . How ever they do not have a test machine for the front shock absorbers . Reading on this site and others they may need to buy one as this seems to be of concern to more than just me.
I still love the car ! JLR just need too tighten up on quality control plus give their mechanics at the dealerships more time to look into jobs given to them. Keep up the good work JLR you have a great product.
