Reversing Camera Removal - Advice Please . . .

Morning All . . .
So, this weeks jobs include high level stop lamp replacement.
While I have the spoiler off, I want to remove/inspect the reversing camera which is - at best - intermittent.
I can't see how the thing comes off the spoiler and/or housing though.
The car is a 2006 MY and I've removed a small grub screw from underneath presuming this would allow removal ?
I've read about drilling out rivets, but can't see anything obvious . . . and I'm not a fan of brute force on electronics . . .
I'm sure I'm missing something !
Assistance please !

. . . I've looked through loads of posts, Stan to no avail.
Others have mentioned drilling rivets, as mentioned, and of easy removal - mine won't budge !

Tug

1. Open the rear tail gate
2. Remove top plastic trim
3. There are 3 screws that need to be removed
4. Shut the tail gate.
5. Pull the spoiler towards you gently
6. The spoiler is now removable.

The camera is on 2 plugs, Dan Duckworth's can supply a new one. There's not a lot you can do with them as they are sealed. I did mine and installed a new camera in the original housing.

Hope this helps.

^ Thanks Jay for the above.
The spoiler is off the car - the problem I have is getting the camera off the spoiler ?!
Is it a "push" or "interference" fit, for example ?

Take the screw out and put a small screwdriver in between the end cap and the camera housing. it should pop out.
The cables are tight so be carful. In fact I think I pushed as much cable through first. The unit is then sealed. I just prised mine apart and its not a camera that you would think of. Its just a printed circuit with a lens.

PM me if you want with a number and I will ring you and take you through it if that's easier.

Thanks both, Jay & Stu - camera now removed . . . phew.

There was absolutely no way it was going to come out as it should have.
I ended up effectively splitting the sealed camera unit and removing the complete housing off the spoiler before I could remove the reasr half of the camera.
Off course, it was easy to see how it SHOULD have come off, but it simply wouldn't slide out of the guides.
I had to pretty brutal and now I know where the rivet is . . .

I'm going to hand the camera over to my Dad (he's a bit of a techy anorak) before condemning it - it was, after all, working sporadically.

If there's no joy with that - I'll have a look at your method, Stu -

Thanks again !
