I have done a fair amount of research and was off to buy/look at a FFRR at the weekend. I thought I should inform SWMBO only to be been told that we are going traveling around Europe again this year We did this a couple of years ago 5 up so I will need the extra row of seats

Unfortunately it looks like the end of the road for me and a FFRR for the time being

Unless I can man math the additional cost of hiring a suitable vehicle for a month I've had my mind made up for me!

I will have to keep my dream of owning a FFRR for a while longer, cheers guys "its been emotional"

Buy a FFRR with the biggest, most powerful, most uneconomical engine you can find, you can then justify renting a 7 seater for the holiday based on the fuel savings.
Basing a car buying decision on one journey for one or two weeks and thereby compromising the rest of the time you spend with the car is complete madness IMO. Good luck..
