French motorway telepeage tag - windscreen location

Any advice on locating the electronic tag? The instructions suggest mounting in the black dotted area behind the rear view mirror but we don't have much more than a very narrow band... Any experience would be very welcome!

Either to the left or right of the interior mirror, it doesn't seem to matter.

Have mine on the passenger side, near the top - never had any issues and it's not that close to either mirror or top

Mine's just next to the mirror, right at the top. No issues. 2012 5.0L S/C

It all depends if you have a LHD or a RHD

for a RHD having it on the left hand side of the windscreen will not be an issue .
Myself , with a LHD , i prefer it behind the mirror at the mirror's height , in order not to diminish the vision ...

Got mine on the passenger side so left top side windscreen. Do not forget to clip it out when parked. You'll not be the first one to find a broken window and empty clip.

Shocked I've never even thought to take it out of the holder - mine's been there for years - though it only spends about 12 weeks a year in France.
