United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Cairns Blue

This was our third Range Rover, a 1990 3.9 Vogue Auto. Previous to this we had a 1978 3.5 Manual and I cant recall the year of the 3.9 Auto we had!

Which we swapped for this, our Rangey No 4, a 1997 4.6 Auto P38.

We had the P38 for 11 years before swapping it for this in 2001.

The car actually rolled 3 times! I'm glad I was driving a Range Rover, it probably saved our lives!
Love Paul's Classic, you should probably have kept her. She's probably worth more than either of the two that followed now.

I'm to young to have really owned one when they were in production and too skint when they finished.
My Dad had about 4 of them and then the P38 he loved them more than his kids, Which now i can understand Shocked
The last he had was a 4.2 LSE which i wish i now own.

Ive looked at a couple myself but the wife keeps telling me i'm not a car collector. Very Happy 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

THREE TIMES!!! Shocked Shocked Then that's hugely impressive. I doubt many modern cars would do that well. You're a lucky man. Thumbs Up

I had a 1976 Masai Red Classic in late eighties/eary nineties. Tin worm got the chassis in the end. My father-in-law still has a 1980 Dog Turd Brown (I think its called russet brown) classic in good nick. He's waxoyled it since had first got it in the mid eighties. Its stiil even got its original bottom tailgate!!!!!! Shocked

I have had several including the VM Diesels and have still got my last Classic, a 3.9 Auto, mint condition, 90K miles FSH, every MOT and Invoice.

Plus she will leave a RR Sport with their tiny 2.7 diesel engines standing, she will do 60 in around 9 seconds thanks to no Air Con, No ABS, No air Suspension and no ancillaries sapping power from the V8.

Equipped with a straight through pipe she sounds better than a TVR Griff and makes a 5.0 SC sound limp - there is absolutely nothing better than the beat of a Rover V8 - according to JE the firing order is different to modern V8's hence the engine tone.

I do seriously miss having an RRC ... just something about it. The wife hated the offroader, however the big RR was a P38 which seemed to fail just when we needed it ... each time, the RRC stepped in and did the job.

I keep saying to the wife that there is still a play-car in me ... one last one.

( dont read further if you think RR's should be stock form )

What I have in mind at the moment is a road going RRC:

RRC - 4 door.
V8 + LPG + side exit exhausts
Stiff suspension / dampers ( maybe a -1" drop )
20" BMW X5 alloys - staggered
Widened arches for the wheels

I had also thought about a fast-back RR. looking back at the old photos, I found these 2 sketches I did years ago ... man .... i forgot about those ... must be from about 2002 timeframe,

It's been done chap Laughing
... by some girl called Lizzy W, apparently...

I have a 1988 3.5 V8 EFI and a 1993 4.6 (p38 engine) V8 LSE, both in Green. the 1993 has been off the road as it has got terrible rust, but is stored on a farm where it is still used daily. The 1988 was a recent purchase, in almost perfect condition. Hope to keep this one for a very long time.
