I think my minds made up on a 90 when the TT has gone.
I'm going to get a JE chip put on it and the full rear side windows. Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

How come you're getting rid of the TT Jay?

You thinking of a Puma one or a TD5?

My uncle has a Puma engined one and as nice as it is to be a passenger in I can't drive it. They moved the bulkhead backwards when they put the Puma engine in it meaning there's less room in the cabin Crying or Very sad

I'd imagine a chipped TD5 could still be quite a good fun car though Smile

The TT is not being used very much and is being left on the drive and not under cover. ( I need a big huge Garage)
So its time to go. I wanted a quick car and the new FF is quick enough for me. I will probably change the wife's car this year so if the speed pangs come back she will have a fast car next. Shocked

I've had two TD5's both chipped and quick enough in fact the last one would do 110 MPH on stiffened springs.
I want a Puma but haven't driven one yet. I would have to put those seat risers on so i could get more leg room. I will drive one and see if i like them before making my mind up i think. The JE chip is probably the best one out there for a standard 90.
Twisted are very expensive but very good.

Keep me updated on search please Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

Quite a collection. With the Frenchies, Love the XM. Never actually seen one in the metal as they were never exported here. They look fantastic. How are they to drive, live with and maintain?

I thought some mxs made it to canada after being imported into the states?

They are lovely and soft to drive, great for long cruises as from a diesel you could if good get nearly 1000miles from a tank!

Seriously they are very under rated, although I think David's has done almost as many miles as on the odo as in a container lol FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

XM's are a marmite car. If you've had one or driven one you can understand them and appreciate them, a lot of people reckon they are just old cars and remember them as being unreliable and plagued with electrical issues.

Mine is a late 2000 model with the V6 petrol engine. One of the last off the production line.

It was registered to an elderly gentlemen who lived just outside London. He kept the car in a heater garage and never used the car in rain, or when there was salt on the roads.

In 2004 when the car was 4 years old he moved to Malaysia and took the car with him. Again, the car lived in a dehumidified garage and was never used in bad weather over there either.

I imported the car back to the UK in May 2010 when it had covered 49k miles. On the way to a car club event last year it ticked over 52,000 miles. I'm it's 2nd keeper and the 3rd person to ever drive the car as the old boy I bought it from only let him or his wife drive it.

I've got a petrol usage record for it from new showing every single tank of fuel he ever put in it working out his average mpg per tank and from new. I've also got 15 A4 pages of service history that has been done on it from day 1.

This one is in showroom condition inside and out and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Sitting on the motorway it's quiet, smooth and comfortable.

Mine left Malaysia in a container and travelled to Singapore where it sat for 4 days. It then travelled from Singapore to Antwerp before being loaded onto a feeder vessel and transported up to Grangemouth.

Here's a few more pictures of it:

Driving it out of the container (this was the first time I'd seen the car!!)

Loaded onto the trailer for trip home

Parked in the garage waiting for it's MOT the next day (It passed with flying colours!) It now lives in the garage with a cover over it and only comes out on sunny summer Sundays!

XM with Citroen C6 Exclusive which I had when I got the XM

And finally an interior and engine bay shot

I'd invite you to see mine and take you for a run in it but it's a long trip! Thumbs Up

Lovely! Thumbs Up Thank you for the invite. I think I'll have to take a rain check on that. Big Cry

I think the US did import a few, but less than 20. I came across a article from a guy in eastern Canada who reckoned he had one of only two XM Estates in North America (and the only one currently running).

They're certainly rare enough that one would consider RR, Aston or Ferrari dirt common in comparison!

WOW, a C6 as well. That blew me away the first time I ever saw a photo of one! Gorgeous! Problem is, the C6 is too new to import, and the lovely DS too expensive. But an XM, hmm... In black...with black leather...and the wood trim... Shocked I think I better stop this sentence now before I start asking if one would fit in a shipping container along with the North American holy grail of an exportable Defender. Whistle

The XM fits snuggly into a 20 foot container so if you were to use a 40ft one I'm sure you'd get both in Wink

I did at one point have a 1999 V6 Exclusive in Mauritius Blue as well Smile

I've got several saved searches on eBay, one of which is for a manual box that would mate to the bell housing on a 4.6 Rover V8.

There was a manual option in the Discovery 2 which was quite rare but the box *should* fit I think.

I need to clear some space and find some time before I get near that project anyway lol.
