Australia 2003 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver

My godfather had a 2dr mk1 (classic) from new. Dad had swb series 2 and 3 LR and my brother had a LWB series 3 LR. I have a 2nd hand L322 td6. Guess it runs in the family.

G'Day

I have owned nothing but Landrovers, learnt to drive in a S11A in the army. My partner (long suffering) and I

currently own a S11A X Australian army workshop S111 GS (X Australian army) 1990 RR clasic on LPG, 1994

Series 1 Disco V8 and our latest pride and joy a 2004 LM233

Retired in the yard 88 RR clasic 89 RR classic, 82 RR classic, not to mention the 3 classics that were taken to the

recyclers before our last trip back to the UK.

Theres nothing like a rangie in the bush, I always thought a clasic could go anywhere but the FFRR out

performs anything we have driven before, ride quality is just superb on the road as well as in the

bush. We still have road tyres on and even with no tread she never missed a beat in the mud and muck on the

weekend.

Its never over in a Range Rover....

Wow Simes, you had one of the first ever LRs from 1658! Must have been Cromwell's very own. LOL. Testament that they go on and on, and on with the right maintenance. Did you have a full service history?

The service history was patchy - it spent 200 years in the dealers waiting for a wiper blade....

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

I've not quite got the pedigree of some others on here but that's mainly because I am still quite young! (No offence intended) but I have a long standing connection with all things Land Rover:

My dad has had Range Rovers since I was a kid (1975) and ever since, and when I was old enough to drive, my first car had to be a Land Rover. I grew up in a circle of family friends who all shoot together and all had Range Rovers, I LOVED the 2 doors, and one of them had the original "In Vogue" edition. I went with Dad to fetch all his cars, he'd change them just before they became 3 yrs old (so he didn't have to bother with MOTs).

In order:

2 Door Sandglow with a Russet brown stripe (That was all the rage wasn't it?)
4 Door in Masai Red - had teddy bear trim, (Real name was Bronze Velvet Velour) cubby box and stud fastened headrest pads - was so cool
4 Door vogue in Derwent blue - the first brand new car, grey velour interior, armrests, electric windows. flash
4 Door Vogue in Cypress Green & grey interior
4 Door Vogue in Ardennes Green, grey interior
4 Door Vogue in Plymouth Blue - Stolen whilst Dad was out logging Shocked
P38A Epsom Green 2.5DT - A truly awfully slow piece of junk
L322 Vogue Adriatic Blue with Navy leather -
L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE in Santorini

As the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Land Rover Series 3 SWB 2.25 Petrol station wagon
Range Rover Classic 3.9 Vogue Auto, Trocadero Red, Winchester cloth, bull bar (God I loved this car)
[Insert company cars and boy racer cars here for a few years]
Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zambezi Silver, Ebony leather - my first and last brand new car
L322 Range Rover Vogue TD6, Tonga Green, Aspen interior
L322 Range Rover Vogue SE, Stornoway, Jet leather
2003 Land Rover Defender TD5, Belize Green
L322 5.0 Supercharged in Santorini - just awesome

Well I currently own a 1994 soft dash RR Classic, 3.9 V8 Vogue SE on LPG with air suspension, works and runs like a dream!

My daily drive is a BMW 330Ci, and my intention is downsize the fleet and replace both cars either either a FFRR L322 Td6, or an RR Sport L320 TDV6 - can't decide which!

Before my current Classic I had a 1991 Vogue SE ('hard dash') but always fancied a soft dash and the LPG is a real bonus!! Here's a couple of pics:

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green  Current fleet:
BMW 330Ci M-Sport coupe - daily driver and long distance cruiser
Range Rover Classic Vogue SE (3.9 V8 on LPG, soft dash model with EAS) - weekend car and generally uneconomical runabout
Suzuki GSX-R750 K6 'Stealth' - trackdays and high speed touring!

Wanted:
Either FF Range Rover Td6 or Range Rover Sport TDV6 - can't decide!

I'm on my first range rover but my folks had a 1984 classic in brown with golden brown velour interior.

I remember the first weekend the old man picked it up, straight into the mud and stuck.

Had to be towed out with a tractor. Was a pretty reliable old girl though we have out suspicions that it had probably been round the clock before we got it. Lived with us until about 1999. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

First LR was a Series IIA - wish I had never sold it. Now I have an 86 Classic, and the 03 L322. They both put a smile on my face when I drive them - for different reasons. The L322 is just so... well - you all know - bloody brilliant. The Classic is not nearly as refined, but jeez it still drives soooo nicely for a 26 year old car - I love them both, and although I may upgrade the L322 at some stage, the Classic I will own until the grave. It has been in the family for 20 years and it aint going nowhere... Smile

A girlfriends father had one and he let me drive it - must've been 1986/7. It was a carb fed two door with a 4 speed box. The only other Range Rover I've driven apart from my L322. I much prefered it over the Austin Alegro I was driving at the time. Smile

Had a last of the hard dash 1992 3.9v8. When I bought it, it was supposed to be a keeper but I was so disappointed with the ride justified when I learnt it was a Disco 1 chassis & suspension which I had been running around in for years. The cabin was lovely but it was a bit of a bus as a daily driver and I lasted 10 months.

A 3 door in perfect condition would be nice though.

Portugal 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

My first RR was 1991 2 doors 2.5 turbo VM engine. I miss that car it was special... maybe because it was the first!

Then i replaced for the 1993 model with the 200 TDi engine from Land Rover.

Later i replaced for the classic 4 doors model from 1994 with the 300 tdi engine.

After that i got the P38A diesel from 2000.

And now i have my favourite car ever my L322! I can change one day to the TDV8 but still a L322!

I'm still not yet an L405 fan, but i think i will get used and one day will be in the garage!

My wife still has not forgiven me for selling the RR classic... is her favourite model! One day i love to get one from my birth year from 1977. Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

A 1981 four door. Brown terracotta colour. Bad starter when damp.

And a 1982 "In Vogue", first of the vogue models, light blue with a hamper in the rear. Ended up taking out the V8 and fitted a nissan 3.3 6 cylinder diesel engine.

Both rolled like ferries in a force 10.

Our first Range Rover was a 'T' plate (1978-79) Brown 4-door, 4 speed Manual with the 3.5 litre Carburettor V8.

I remember the idle speed climbing up dramatically one day, so took it to the local Land Rover parts shop in Newton-le-Willows and the solution was to solder closed the poppet valves on the throttle butterflies in the SU carbs!!

Got us down to Cornwall towing a caravan a few times though, and at the time we showed Rottweillers, so would often head off to Championship Shows around the country with 2 Rotties in the back and the caravan hooked up!

After that we had a couple of 3.9 V8 Injected Rangeys.
