I dont know if its still available, but on one of our cars we had the registration number etched into all the windows and front and rear lamps as a deterrent, theory being that if someone nicked the car and tried to change the identity, they would have to change out all the glass as well.

In the past you could order little sets based on your license plate number with acid. The templates had your license plate number "punched" in little holes. You stuck the template onto the glass and put the acid on the template, leaving a license plate number in dots on the windows.

Here a lot of cars have it done by electric engraver units (looks quite squiggly). I wonder if you should do the VIN number (last 6 digits) i.s.o. license plate number ????

Replacing the hex bolts with torx bolts is a way to make it a lot harder stealing the tail lights. I am waiting for my new tail light, hopefully with two sets of torx bolts to replace my hex bolts  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Its a no brainer - it take 2 minutes and about 50p to change those bolts..........

and the 2 minutes includes a coffee break... ... - .- -.

These are the bolts fitted to the rear lights (that are exposed when you drop down the tailgate)...I assume these are the ones that are referred to in this thread.

Do I need to change mine?....I know were avoiding giving the "modus operandi" openly in case ne'er do wells are reading, so if anybody can tell me how they actually do it by PM, i'd appreciate that.

ahh, be careful with the tightening as they go into plastic lugs which can snap..

Just spoke to my local LR dealer about something else, and remembered the newer bolts being available, which cannot be undone without opening the lower tailgate.

The correct part number is fyp106392 but only available in a pack of 10 and with some discount I got, will cost me £3.50 odd. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
