How to increase membership

Although there're nearly 200 members on here, but most of them do not seem to participate Crying or Very sad

I just have this crazy idea Idea If those of us with the forum sticker, and make 20copies using photocopier and put them in our Rangies, keep a couple of them in our wallet, whenever we see a FFRR, we place one under the wiper.
You never know, I bet most of them are unaware of such forum exist Wink

Providing Martin agrees of course Whistle

Great Idea Kin - What do you Say Martin ? If not a photocopy how about an authorised leaflet than you can provide to members for distributing

I remember somewhere, there is a Disco3.co.uk leaflet, but I can't remember where it is.

Maybe Martin, or on of you lot with authorisation from Martin, could knock something up! Maverick off disco3!

Yep Smile Thanks very much Thumbs Up

There's a few on my YouTube account from various Disco3 and Offroad Essential trips - Boughrood in Wales, the Croisiere Blanche in the French Alps and a couple of trips to the Sahara in Tunisia.

Be nice to have some FFRR along on some of these Cool Wouldn't recommend the Croisiere for a FF though Shocked

We tried this on the RRS forum, I placed dozens on car windscreens but not a single one joined as a result. Discovery 4 HSE

Just a leveller to this I hate people putting any sort of flyer under my wipers, It’s just wrong. Now if a Greenie tried to do it I assume you might have something to say about it (I know I would) so what makes this flyer any different.
In the real world I'd sort the person out first then just throw the paper away

Just my thoughts

Having had a windscreen wiper broken in the past by a moron putting a flyer under it, I am not in favour of this. When it does happen, I don't read them, they just get thrown away and get me wound up. If I catch someone actually putting the thing there I too may get a little P|ssed off.

As an idea to increase membership, why not have a bit of mutual back scratching with other LR or 4x4 forums and advertise them on Fullfatrr in return for the same on their forum. or even scronge an advert in LRO in return for an advert on here.

Its a flyer specifically for RangeRover vehicles only, advertising RangeRover forum, it won't be on any other cars... as for the flyer, it could be the same size as the sticker, so I don't think any wipers is going to be broken, right? Whistle

I once put one of these on a Sport when I was part of the forum, I watched the owner come back to the car and throw it on the floor.

Lets face it, most owners are not 'one of us' they are members of the chelsea tractor club and therefore don't give a poo! Discovery 4 HSE

I see the point that these flyers would only be put on FFRR's, but does anyone even look at the subject matter on a windscreen flyer before throwing it away. It might be better to just carry the flyer and hand it to people you see getting in or out of their RR's on your travels. If you strike up a conversation they may see it as a more friendly approach and I would imagine be more likely to try the site if only out of curiosity.

My point would be that I think there are more effective methods of advertising, albeit maybe not as simple. I often see website stickers on cars and have a look later out of curiosity. Maybe the forum sticker will attract folk to the site (I'll hold my hand up and admit I haven't got mine yet).

In fact, why not have a poll to see how people found the site to decide on a way forward (Google may be the main answer I suspect).

Yeah, bang on - google for the sister site that shall not be named, then referred from the link at the bottom of the page.

S'pose the windscreen spamming could be seen as anti-social in some respects...
