Another new sport

So, my brother got his wife a new sport this year. She likes it better than her vogue SE.
Today my brother swapped his vogue for a new sport as well. He has had a range rover continually since the 90's and feels the sport is a superb car. He gets it on Friday. It was a cancelled order so he has waited all of 3 days to get it!
My sister is now the only family member with a FFRR.... Big Cry and even she is talking about the new 2014 range rover.
From 4 to 1 fatties in less than a year....
On the plus side, swmbo is talking about one again.... Previously..

Unfortunately, I think the new Sport has a compelling argument against the L405 unlike the old one (from experience Sad )

I was talking to a JLR salesman a few weeks back and asked him if the Sport was stealing sales from the L405. His view was that the L405 was heading significantly upmarket and that the new Sport was the real successor to the L322. Shocked Whistle

TBH you can see the argument, you save a lot of money and get a lighter more fuel efficient car for you money, albeit with only one V8 choice in this country.

The big thing for me is the flowing centre console from the dash that i hate on them as they feel too high up for me Sad

TDV8 4.4 all the way for me if i got the money lol FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.

Centre console is higher in the L405 too - the centre console lid comes up by the seat armrests.

A friend of mine who works for JLR said that many of their dealers are selling New Sports in favour of L405's to L322 owners as with the slightly bigger body and 7 seats it makes avery compelling choice.

I am a fan of both, but that's a pipe dream at the moment unless I take on a finance plan and I ain't doing that...but when all you chaps 2011 L322 4.4 TDV8's decide to jump ship I will be looking to upgrade Whistle Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Hmm save a lot of money

Well a 4.4 SDV8 in either L405 Autobiography or Sport with same extra's on them come out within 3 k of each other! compare what you get as standard there are many differences.

Build Quality on some of the sport parts INC the external gloss black plastic and some of the internals is not anywhere near the L405, also dynamically two very different cars to drive and live with IMO. As a long distance GT the L405 all the way and as a country sedate drive nothing better, as a blaster or point to point car maybe the RRS.

Always worries me that people seem more worried about fuel consumption than the real deal when buying large LR's and bemoaning depreciation on big cars. Far to many gone...

Exactly, the difference between 20 and 30mpg is insignificant when you look at total cost of ownership.

20 and 30 MPG ? yes on a V8SC against a SDv6 i agree but surely not Sdv6 v SDV8 only 2-3 MPG change Far to many gone...

Following on from what tboner001 said.... My sister-in-laws car was only 7k cheaper than the L405. They bought them for the overall package, size, speed etc... I think people are buying it because they really like it, not just to save money. I don't think running costs will be much different to the L405... Previously..
