I think your last line says it all. They're both excellent. I saw what I thought was an L322 a few days ago through heavy fog. When I got nearer, I found it was a new L405. So I think they've got it right. It's still recognizably the same car. It'll be interesting to see what styling tweaks will come out in the next few years for the L405.

If I were rich enough to drop £100K on a car without pausing, I'd get a L405, (and a CSK, and a 90 NAS soft top...).

IMHO, it's the L322 for me, I think the rear of the L405 is awful, I would expect the L405 to be a better
Car, but if I had the pound notes I would without dought get me self a late L322 if I could. I see one on
a regular basis in North London when I go to watch the mighty spurs, White and black, it just doesn't
do it for me. 2004 vogue

For me, the key to a successful Range Rover is that with a good set of A/T or M/T tires, a roof rack, possibly a winch, and a few other pieces of kit, it should look like a proper off road vehicle. I just don't see this in the L405.

I understand the vast majority of owners will never drive their Range Rover off the tarmac (the market has changed), but this should be the soul of every Rover.

A friend has an AB L405 and it is a wonderful car, i
I would have one if I could justify it. But, purely on looks, I think the L322 is a better looking and classier design Cool

I think the L322 is the best looking but there again that was my view about the classic when the P38 came out, I think it takes me a while to adjust to the new look and afford it! But seriously the L405 is a bit bling

One of the most incredible thing on Range Rover history was the first design, took 26 years to be replaced! Is one of the best design 4x4 vehicles ever made! 26 years!!!! The P38A was not the same thing... we can sympathise with him but was not the same thing!

The L322 is and was also a design success in my opinion... i thought it will last also more than 10 years!!!

The fist generation was the beginning, all others are successors but the L405 is not only sucessor from the old models but a mix of the Evoque generation that is other championship! Is a new identity and is getting away from the first generation design! I thing that is the reason of this impact in our minds! But like Harris says everything new at the first times is strange! But we get used! Smile

I still love the 1st generation i had 3, and one day i want to get one again just to keep it!

The L322 is my favourite car! Lucky bastard i am! Smile Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

Yes and see now how Range Rover Classic values are now much higher than the later P38 model!

I loved my 72 classic 500k+ miles! and when the P38 was wrong when it came out, but when I finally bought one it was a great car bar the electronic and suspension issues, but the L322 is better than the P38, I think I have rose tinted specs for the classic.
