Gearstick & Footbrake Click Noise

Hello

Last night when parking I noticed that when the car is in neutral with the park brake activated, if I press the footbrake, each time I do, there is a click noise from the auto gearstick. Is that normal/ does anyone know why it does that?

Its an electric motor/solenoid that works when your brake lights are on, allowing you to move from P or N... Turns off above approx 10mph Thumbs Up

Coincidentally, I noticed exactly the same thing on my S/C yesterday and did wonder about posting about it. Then I figured it must be something to do with this solenoid whatsit and then wondered if Ryan had ever noticed it.

And voila! Thumbs Up Laughing Si. <This is my name.
