They are made by Jurid (or at least that is what is stamped on them) and BREMBO is printed on them... Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up mmm, wonder if Jurid sell to alternative suppliers - the price of TDV8 4.4 front pads at just under £200 is an absolute Ripoff !

Still confused

I'm confused as to the difference between JLR, "Brembo Spec" & [genuine] Brembo made by Jurid.

Duckworths quote £88+VAT delivered for a pair of front 'Brembo Spec' pads.

After seeing the posts on this thread re Jurid making the real deal pads with Brembo then being printed on the product, I did some searching and found this ebay ad from a LR parts supplier who gets excellent feedback.

This ad is for front and rear 4.2SC & 3.6TDV8 compatible 'Brembo Pads'. £95.79 delivered to UK mainland. The ad states:
"These are genuine Brembo pads, this is the brand that Land Rover fit. Land Rover part no. SFP500070 & LR019627 "

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-L322...5d449cc5a1

I've emailed the seller seeking some clarity as to whether Jurid features reference this product.

Thanks. Just spoke to a very helpful chap at autopost.limited and he says the above front and rear set are correct for the car as advertised and are -as Duckworths referred to about their own pads - "Brembo branded" pads which he says are as good as you will get and will not cause any squeal or any other problems.

Read the wiki re disc/pad change thanks and also found an American youtube video of a front disc/pad change (RSW Solutions).

1. Is it advisable to change the discs and pads at the same time; and

2. Should a new brake pad sensor be fitted as a matter of routine?

Thanks

Just do a search and find out if anyone else sells Brembo branded pads? Ive never seen them before... I would imagine if they were sold in glossy red Brembo boxes (as advertised in their eBay ad) they would be for sale in that fashion everywhere... Smell a rat Rolling Eyes Stinks of Chinese counterfeit goods to me...

I could very well be wrong but, imho deserves a little more looking into... Lets be honest here... Last thing anyone needs is counterfeit brake pads! Shocked

I agree , i think they are copies ( not the later [post with pics but the earlier post showing pads at £29.99 ) , i asked them a question and the response was well frankly rubbish would not risk anything like that its the same as fitting Chinese copy wheels and crying when your 2.7 tonne £xxxx car hits the barrier from a collapsed rim or worse. Far to many gone...

@Craig, I did a post to Duckworths asking what pads they could sell me and the reply was
" Genuine LR which are the Brembo Spec pads are £88+VAT "

For the second time in as many days, I've just telephoned the highly recc eBay seller whom I've posted about and I've queried whether these are proper, full on, genuine Brembo or 'copies of Brembo to Brembo spec' and he is adamant these are bought directly from Brembo.

The actual Brembo website states:
“BREMBO OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF BRAKE PADS: WITH APPROXIMATELY 1,100 ITEMS CATERING TO 98% OF THE VEHICLES CURRENTLY ON THE ROADS IN EUROPE.”

The chap I spoke with was confident, pleasant and really appeared to know his stuff, even observing that if the pad sensor has not come on there there should be no need to buy sensors from them @ £10 each for one front and one rear as the existing sensors should be fine (obviously they can become brittle and brake off during the pad change over though so I would order sensors too).

I'm completely satisfied based on thousands of eBay customer reviews on this seller, the product packaging, the eBay declarations that these are genuine Brembo and having spoken to the seller twice in person who is adamant that these are genuine. The full set represents good value from a reputable seller and I'm going to order a set unless someone can give me a good reason not to Wink .

Thumbs Up

Site sponsor Advanced Factors have Brembo pads here, cheaper than eBay and without having to risk on an unknown seller: http://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/6-brake-p...-177-c.asp

Define "Non Genuine"

I have a set of EBC RedStuff Pads in my D3 (with Brembo's) and cannot fault them at all...

I admit, there are some shocking pads out there, but IMHO, you get what you pay for.
Buy cheap, buy twice Thumbs Up
