how about a flat-6 ?

a nice mid 80's Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera ... pay £20K and make sure you get a good one & you won't loose . Also, you can just get in it & drive it to the south of france without worry

Older Aston or Ferrari.

DB7/DB0, 355
most between £20-30k shouldn't be too bad but are you counting maintenance in there or just to run for less than a year?

Big old jag XJ maybe?
Cheap V8 rangey as some are about for £4k but wont be great and at least you know it wont depreciate at such prices Smile
V8 cherokee for using and abusing offroad as they are quite capable and come with a decent spec as standard and for £1k could almost be binned afterwards Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

England 2006 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

I have an E32 BMW 730i V8 which cost next to nothing to buy with genuine Alpina wheels which would sell for more than I paid for the car so technically appreciation although I have paid to have it fully wrapped and updated some bits and bobs.

It was driving the BMW that convinced me to dump the Pathfinder and get the FFRR and come up with ways f trying to justify the slight increase in fuel costs to everyone who thinks I am mad. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Surely an early V8 Defender is never going to go down in price??

I may be being an idiot..... actually scrub that.........I am being an idiot............

But I have a hankering for a Ferrari Mondial T as a bit of a GT.

In fact one *may* be in my garage at the moment with an option to buy over the next few days. Feel free to tell me how much of a fool I would be.

Sub £20k in very good order and a full main dealer history. 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography

Watch this episode of top gear first, then question yourself again.

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Get the stag, lovely burbly noise, not a lot of go but lovely noise.

My mum had an L reg one, DUJ 566L for may years, needed a new engine as t stood for years and furred up, heads warped, engine kaput, then new engine fitted but she didnt have the cyl head bolts retorqued so the HG went again but was replaced and all was fine. The secret is to change the coolant every year as the coolant system gets furred up. Its possible to fit a higher flow rad to it (see wheeler dealers stag episode) which will sort the problem. Otherwise was a pretty robust car bit of rot here and there but nothing serious as it was garaged. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
