Front Parking Sensors

When I tested the FF before purchase I got my daughter to walk around the front of the car and the parking sensors all worked. Since collecting the rear ones work but I can get right up to a car or wall at the front and nothing. I have tried turning the sensors on manually on the dash.

I have tried to listen to the sensors but can't hear anything over the V8.

If one sensor is bad does it turn them all off?

Is there anything I can check that would cause all 4 front sensors not to work

Any ideas what might be wrong There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Rej, this link is from LR UK forums and considers in some technical detail as to what might be wrong with the front sensors on a 2004 L322. Might start the ball rolling for you.

I had all the front go.

I'm sure I had to replace the parking ECU. I found a X5 one on eBay.

Thanks, for the suggestions. I have tried again this morning and noticed that I only get one "beep" when turned on but all other warning bongs work OK so I guess that the module has gone kaput between the test drive and now.

I have advised the supplying dealer as I have a couple of other issues I am trying to get them too sort (handbrake (provides no resistance when FFRR is in gear), airbag light (noticed when starting in the dark last night that it remains on flickering dimly), camera (worked when tested on test drive but black screen most of the time (I have a new OEM camera from Dan but will try to get them to fit), locks (now sorted thanks to this forum) and the potentially dangerous wheels although I have already changed these). And it was MOT'd for my pickup less than 2 weeks ago!!

I have now got a reply from the dealer after my second e-mail giving them a chance to sort before I excalated to various other avenuesm mainly on the safety/MOT related items. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Apparently this is a faulty loom which is on back order so will go back to the dealer when he gets it to sort that along with the now leaking boot, dimly lit airbag light and to replace the boot clip that they lost. They have said they will give a full valet and fill with fuel to make up for the poor service. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t
