Hi there, I have had my car for a few years now and I'm trying to find out the service history of the car with only the reg and vin number. Any ideas folks?

If it has been serviced at a Land Rover dealer, any one of them should be able to let you know the service history as everything is recorded internationally in the entire Land Rover network.

all warranty work carried out there for several years, then had a recall done by Peter Vardy LR Aberdeen in 2008

Sorry for my mistake, I thought it was. My dealer could see what had been carried out on my car before, the reason being they were warranty claims. Good we have some pro's on this forum who correct us when we're wrong!

re service history

its a pain in the behind to try and track it down - mine got lost in the post and the previous owner only had it 6 mths - I managed to track down its last service by the dealer that sold it to him - but anything earlier than that has been impossible , I know the first owner had it serviced in majorca , he lived there by all accounts, so trying even the selling dealer gave me no joy.

Having spoke at length to the previous owner who had a bump in it - I'm satisfied its been well looked after , its a keeper anyway , so it doesn't matter too much as far as I'm concerned

Normally you should at least have the service book which should give you some basic but no less valuable information with dealer stamps.

Thank you Dan. I really appreciate that. I have contacted the stoke garage and they have my details so hopefully will here from them tomorrow. Unfortunately the Aberdeen garage has change hands and they say they don't have details going back any more than a year. The reason I am looking for as much history as I can get is because I'm selling the car and a history file would be beneficial.

I had to speak to jaguar/land rover customer services this week and the rather nice lady I spoke with said that service history will be going on line on their systems quite soon.
