Hi all,

Adjusted my handbrake today (thanks to the guide in the how to section) but noticed the discs and pads are nearly shot!

Will ask Mr Dan for updated prices but wondered if there's anything special I should know about replacing them. I note I must slacken the handbrake adjuster before removing the disc. Anything els?.

Not sure if I have pad wear indicators on mine? Should these be replaced and should the handbrake shoes also be replaced??

Handbrake shoes are not dear so might be worth changing them as part of the job as they do like to crack over time with heat

You should have a wear indicator on the right hand side (drivers). On removal prepare for the little brass spring to ping off and get lost

Get the drum brakes as loose as possible, as the shoe retainers may pull through the dust guards, creating more work  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
