2006 Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged Zambezi Silver
Site Recommendations Devon / Cornwall or Anywhere Else !

Sitting here enjoying a bottle of red wine and started thinking about our Summer holidays......having bought a brand new caravan this year, it's going to be two weeks in the van somewhere in the UK. I did think about France, but feels too far from us in Central Scotland..... Big Cry

Thinking about making the long trek from Scotland to Devon / Cornwall area, but open to suggestions / recommendations from fellow FFRR's - main criteria is: well run 4 - 5 star site (no chavs !), preferably near a beach, be dog friendly and have a nice wee country style pub close by for some summer beer relaxation.......not too much to ask for is it ?

Any recommendations gladly received....

Thanks

There are a couple of areas to look at.
Port Eynon and Tenby

Tenby is a beach side town which is stunning there loads of really good sites there.

Port Eynon is on there gower peninsula and again there are a lot of good sites to choose from.

I hope this helps.

we go to hillhead near brixham every summer holidays, it is a caravan club site, one of their blue ribbon ones, we go there as its one of the few sites we can get in with our 4 dogs, a lot of sites are 2 dogs only, good for the kids too, good site facilities, on the doorstep of Dartmouth which is one of our favourite places now, good base to explore from, heated outdoor pool, restaurant and bar, shop, buses into brixham from the entrance, access to torquay via ferry, we have gone for the last 3 years now and cant fault it, very well run, clean and tidy, but if you don't like or have kids, it may not be for you, although they police it well and you don't see any kids roaming around after dark, might be worth checking out

We went to the caravan club site in Looe Cornwall in the summer there weather was magic and they have an outdoor pool on site and a great play area for the kids. Seen a site called pentewan sands when we where out and about which is right on a beach and has an indoor leisure centre with a bar and restaurant on site maybe thinking of going there in the summer next year. Gone

Mark6r, I was looking at that site in Looe last night, looks like it might fit the bill, I'll check out that other site you were talking about as well. Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hillhead is a lovely site near Dartmouth, in fact there are several sites around there which are wonderful. South Devon is a great coastline with plenty to do.

Hi CG-SC

Not sure this answers your question directly, but amongst my favourite places in the UK are:

St David's, Pembrokeshire

Bamburgh, Northumberland

Poolewe, in NW Scotland - site here: http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk...ewegardens

Have a look at Trewethet farm in Tintagel. Caravan Club site and it's right by the sea. Stayed there in September and loved it.

Thanks everyone for the replies / recommendations.

Was just looking through a few posts and came across the recommendation for Chateau Lez Eaux and that got me thinking......I've got a fair journey down from Scotland so a quick trip across the channel and a small journey at the other end doesn't make that much difference plus the weather may be 'more reliable' !

Any ideas on the best option for crossing ? I can't take the Chunnel as I'm running on LPG......

It's either going to be one of the sites recommended in Devon / Cornwall or Chateau Lez Eaux Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Can thoroughly recommend les eaux! Thumbs Up

It's a fair old drive once you have crossed the channel so Portsmouth-Saint Marlo May be more appealing, overnight in the boat and then a much shorter drive to the site. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
