FBH upgrade to "Thermo Call"?

With wintry weather on the way I was looking at the Webasto website (I believe they supply the FBH fitted to range rovers). They offer a feature called thermo call whereby the heater can be activated from a mobile phone. Potentially very useful when on a train or similar so the car can be nicely defrosted/warmed up on arrival. Anyone know if this can be retrofitted?

Have a search on here - a couple of people have wired GSM receivers into the FHB remote activation circuit, giving them that facility

That said, if its plug and play, I'd be interested depending on cost! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Thanks, he talks about a solution here:

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic12516.html

I'm currently talking to a Webasto dealer about fitting an official Webasto controller - the TC3 Thermocall. There are also wiring adapters available for the L322 - looks the neatest way to install and allows use of the Webasto app which deals with the potential timing issue referred to in the above thread.

The dealer though thinks this might cause a problem with the car shutting down the electrics if installed in an L405 (which I have).

Very interesting John, did the dealer give you any indication of price? (preferable for parts only, seems easy to fit!)

I'd be interested in a TC3 Thermocall with wiring adaptor for an L322 as a 'plug and play' solution 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

The receiver itself is on ebay

about £230. Plus I guess the wiring adapter and fitting - although it may be a DIY job for some.

Ironhorse, that looks a really good solution!

Could you post instructions how to connect up? This looks like a mod I'd like to do, more factory fit and less hassle than wiring a second T90 remote to a GSM timer 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

in the boot on the right hand side above the fuse box find a plug with 3 wires

white/green
red/yellow
brown

i cut the plug off and left enough wire on the plug just in case i needed to put it back to standard(when i sell the car),then connected to GSM as follows

brown = connect to "gnd" in the GSM
red/yellow = connect to "+ve" in the GSM
white/green = connect to "no" in the GSM

then you need to loop a wire from " +ve" to "common" in the GSM

very straight forward when you have the GSM in your hand

hope this helps

if you need more info let me know

I think this would be cheaper for me to do, rather than trying to source T60 bits.
