It certainly is Contra, especially when you're up on the banking thinking about how steep it is.

Cheers Jim, the things I do to myself Laughing Laughing

I did my first accreditation in May, what an eye opener that was. I struggled to keep up with everyone and after the hour was finished I was also finished. It left me feeling I had to put a good few miles in on the road before trying the accred 2 and through the summer I plodded away and did the 2nd accreditation a couple of months ago. Still felt anxious as 3 & 4 are both 2 hours long I wasn't sure if I was strong enough, I did the 3rd a couple of weeks ago and it was a tough workout but for some reason tonight everything just seemed to work for me and although not the fastest I certainly wasn't the slowest.

Now I need to get the track bike ready for next weeks drop-in session Thumbs Up

Been sorting out the track bike for it's initiation onto the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, changed the saddle, new co-ordinated bar tape and lashings of wax which should make it more aero without the expense of a new frame Laughing Laughing

Also turned the bars down a little more so going to stick the bike on the rollers tonight and check everything is suitable

I doubt I will leave anyone in my dust, might just about make it round the track before collapsing in a heap.

Nothing planed for the velodrome this coming weekend sadly

Watched that Contra, they couldn't have picked 4 more unlikely candidates for the challenge and fair play to them all for giving it a go. At the beginning I would have put my money on the old fella not making it to the end. Just shows what you can achieve with a bit of determination

After three failed attempts at trying to get my GPS to record my efforts in the velodrome I eventually managed to sort it out and today for the first time I have my speed, cadence lap times etc. It should hopefully let me see if there is any progress over the next few months

Note to self...MUST TRY HARDER...

My performance was pathetic so I really need to get a bit more practise in

I was in halfords today buying tool chests for the new garage... Saw this, only a tenner. Do you use any energy products whilst on the move? Or before/after? I am a fan of bananas for a boost, but I thought I would go chemical!!

Don't usually bother Contra unless it's for 50+ miles. Anything less than that I will take a banana and possibly an oat bar. Best to fuel up properly before going out, then less chance of bonking, also take plenty water whilst cycling to help keep everything moving and stop cramps.

You must be getting into it buying that lot Laughing

Bought a couple of tool boxes myself this week, can't afford Halfraud prices so I went down the second hand route
