Update

Phoned local dealer during the Xmas break re the corrosion I had noticed on the seem along bottom of upper tailgate. They sent me to their approved repairer for an inspection.
Relevant photos of blistering on tailgate and rubber window seals taken to be sent to LR.

Phone call today to say all approved by LR and booked in for next week for repairs totalling £1600.

Well pleased with LR Thumbs Up

mine are being replaced under general warranty.
beadles tell me this is only covered for 3 years - the corrosion warranty only applies to the paint they say....

Hi

Main dealer replaced mine with no hesitation while the car was in for 24 month service. Never had rust on a 2 year old car before!!!!

Cheers

Hi - I have the same problem but no warranty, does the window mount on-top of the seal and therefore you have to have the window off to replace?

Thanks

Similar problem

2011 Autobiography in lovely condition let down by these silly strips.

After reading the comments I called the local Leeds dealer who dismissed it right away as a corrosion covered part.
They did however give me the part numbers DED500180 and DED500190 which they will charge you £60 for and £110 to fit. I spoke with the service department who admitted its an easy DIY fit and found a set on fleabay for £45. As I've just bought the car I'm letting the salesman fight my corner with Landrover to see if he can get a free set first but if not then £45 is reasonable as it does look flipping awful.

I would just take them off and not replace them. Looks better and my old 2008 didn't have them.

Yep, as above. Just pull them off an put them in the bin. Earlier cars didn't have them and they serve no purpose other than to rust.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks gents. After looking today I see they do indeed serve no purpose regards insulation. The previous owner attempted to glue the corroded ends down and made them look worse so it will take some cleaning once I work them off.
Cheers.

I got mine here...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201649316136?_tr...EBIDX%3AIT

They have sticky pads at either end and when you pull the old ones off it leaves the bottom one behind

Hope this helps

Yep, that's the same listing I found.
I'll see what they look like off before I decide.

My last RRS had similar corroded wheel arch fittings which instead of replacing I just left off and the car looked no different. Money was better spent elsewhere.
