I have the OEM rubber mat set. The driver’s mat does not go under the pedals, as it used to on the L322, but it doesn’t need to. It’s oblong and sits neatly in the floor area over the rubber wear pad, and comes to the top of the little ramp – i.e. stops level with the bottom of the rubber left foot rest. It replaces the carpet mat which is there on delivery, and hooks on using the same rubber toggle things on the floor. I recommend it – collects a lot of dirt and saves the carpet from heel wear, and I don’t see the uncovered area getting significant wear and tear. I think a lot of manufacturers stopped putting mats under the pedals because of problems with them riding up and interfering with the pedals – may even be a legal requirement in some countries.

Thanks. Shame it still leaves some carper unprotected though - maybe I rest my feet in an unusual position but I can see the bit of carpet just in front of the mat needing replacement in a year or two. Not cheap I suspect - I'm not hugely keen on putting plastic down though as I think even worn carpet would look nicer. |

With muddy boots it gets filthy. I cut a piece of thin rubber matting to fit, and Scotchguard'd the sides too....... |
