RRS and D3 19" wheels - do they fit FFRR?

Guys I am contemplating returning to the FFRR fold after nearly 6 years of very happy RRS TDv6 and TDv8 ownership and having run an L322 before the first RRS (it was a TD6 L322) - now I have in my garage 4 D3 HSE 6 spoke style 19" wheels shod with 19" GY MTRs and 4 RRS 19" 6V spoke wheels shod with Pirelli Scorpian Snow and Ice tyres - will these wheels fit a 2010MY FFRR? I have run my TDv8 RRS on both sets with no problems but wonder if FFRR has same hub/offsets as D3/D4 and RRS

These are the RRS V spokes fitted with Snow and Ice. I have just run on for a warm July week to London and back on them and they look unused after managing to puncture 2 of the summer 20's the car normally runs on the day before I was to travel south .............

RRS has more off set than FFRR - or in simple terms RRS wheels stick out more towards the edge of the wheel arch. There HAVE been problems with owners fitting FFRR wheels to RRS which resulted in rubbing -specifically the 19" versions - wheel spacers have cured this problem though.

As far as fitting D3 wheels to FFRR, I have seen several D3's with early L322 18" FFRR wheels - I believe that these were fitted as std on early D3's.

As far as fitting D3 wheels to FFRR, I cannot confirm, but would suspect yes as the D3 and RRS has the same running gear / hubs ?? and RRS wheels will fit the FFRR - LR even fitted the same 18" wheels to RRS SE models and FFRR as std at one time.

The main problem with fitting 19" wheels to an RRS TDv8 is the Brembo brake calipers - the calipers can rub on the alloy so only a few designs of LR wheel will fit the S/C or TDv8. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Hi Tim,

yes agreed, the odd thing is the 19" come as std on the FFRR TDV8 with Brembo's - its therefore got to be the reduced hub offset (less sticky outy) on the FFRR.

Why not just flog the D3 wheels and buy a good s/h set off ebay and refit your existing tyres - a FFRR with anything other than FFRR wheels looks Sheep IMHO Thumbs Up

True Vogue, and there's plenty of folks on RRS and D3 looking for spare sets 19" wheels for winter use with Snow and Ice tyres. The car I'm looking at buying is a 3month old Vogue TDv8 so comes on IMHO rather ugly 19" wheels anyway so I wouldn't be loosing a set. I'm not going to fit 20" wheels though, I've had enough of refurbing my RRS 20" wheels for a while as they are like magnets to kerbs....................... I've never scuffed the 19's purely because they have so much more side wall. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
