Had a new shiny set of front discs and pads fitted to the FF. The callipers are now looking really dull. Is there anyway to clean up the black finish and the Brembo logo or will they need a re paint?

Funnily enough they are not black but a dark grey. I took wheel off and used a tooth brush combined with a dedicated wheel cleaner that brought them back to newish condition. If your after a shiney black finish then you will need to respray and stick on new brembo decal. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Nice work Googsy, so maybe my callipers are not as bad as I thought as they are a dull-ish grey. Thought they were black originally. Is the original Brembo logo painted or vinyl?

Gloss black ones are on the SC, Matt Grey ones on the TDV8 and the Brembo logo is kind of etched into the alloy

Our SC has the matt grey front Brembos ?

@craig ,you sure re the black gloss on s/c's..

Later cars got a mix and match I think stan... All pre 07 interior facelift cars got gloss black ones then it just got pot luck I think...

Im also pretty sure the replacements from JLR are either only available in Grey now or Black ones are twice the price!

Yours being one of the last 4.2's means you get the parts dregs Stan... Don't forget the 5.0 SC got the larger 6 pot Brembo's

knowing LR ,your theory sounds about right craig ..

tbh , black brembos wouldnt look right on a grey or silver FF..
