[Wanted] 4.4 Vogue - 02-04

Hello again chaps!

Looking for an L322 again, been away far too long. Looking to spend 5-7K, don't mind something with niggles if the price is right.

What ya got?

Haha, thanks Stan!

Been a long time coming to be honest. Moved house & started my own business, but now I'm finally settled enough to get another one...

Welcome back Dan Very Happy

Now you like green, if I remember correctly, BIGMAMMA's 4.4 looks a good buy?

Erm...

"in Feb 2011 Had the engine remapped to give more power.
July 2012 gearbox packed in.
March 2013 HG Failed
Nov 2013 - another new Rad (makes me thing engine still over pressurising)"

It's been messed around with too much for my liking I'm afraid. Shame as I was really excited when I first saw the pics, then I saw the exhaust Shocked and then actually read the description... It would cost too much to put it back to reliable stock.

Hi Dan, Joe's correct, mine is for sale, have a look at the posting from earlier this week, or as it now is, last year! As Joe says, if you like the colour, the car wont let the photo's down. Good hunting anyway.

Thanks for your comments on my car Dan, however, appreciating that you are entitled to your opinion, I would like to correct you on a couple of things relating to my original description in the 'For Sale' section;
I did have the engine remapped as stated, though not really sure why, slight improvement in economy maybe, but in my style of driving, I just wanted to know that if I needed the extra grunt, it would be there.
In July 2012 I had the gearbox valve block checked over whilst I was away on holiday, the gearbox had not failed, at all. it did default to second gear once when it was hot weather and I was working around West London in heavy traffic, the check over was precautionary.
When I had the gearbox reconditioned in December 2012, again it had not failed, and was used everyday, but research suggested that a lot of the ZF gearboxes tended to require refurbishment of some kind at around 100,000 miles, so having made my mind up to extend ownership, I had it done.
The head gasket blew, and I had it fully repaired, some 37,000 miles after I had it remapped. The radiator core had started to rot apparently, so I had it changed - both the repairer and myself were a little surprised at the speed of it doing so - c'est la vie!
I respect your opinion, but to suggest that the gearbox and head gasket repairs were, or are related to the remapping is a little 'stretched' with the mileage travelled in between - in excess of 35,000 miles.
I also respect that you're not keen on the exhaust system, but I like it, and it gives a fabulous sound.
As I stated earlier in this thread, good hunting with your quest.

Really didn't mean to come across as a personal attack on your car, was more an honest reply to the chap who suggested it.

I honestly liked your car, but am always put off of any car with a giant exhaust, as are so many other people. I don't understand why you would devalue your car in such a way. But then I'm a fan of stock.

RR's have a long history of destroying gearboxes when tuned, hence my comments. People rarely even change their oil at the prescribed 60,000 miles and wonder why it pops.

All the best.

Dan

Wouldn't have said it on a "For Sale" thread, but it's true Thumbs Up

People should service their car's. Hopefully that's not news to anyone trying to sell their Range Rover...

Still looking - managed to find a really nice one. Was due to collect tomorrow morning but just got a text to say he's just sold it!

So 2002-2004, preferably not Oslo Blue as I'm bored of that after having had two previously. Ideal would be red, green or grey. Must be Vogue, must be petrol and must be happy to do a deal on a sunday (last dealer said they don't conduct financial transactions on the lords day!)
