Hi Rangie, welcome!

Good to see a full fat over in QLD: I'm on holiday over in Brisbane at the moment and Range Rovers are indeed a rare breed. Unfortunately I'm not in a Range Rover either.

My hire car is a Hyundai Getz! Shocked

Looking forward to getting behind the wheel of my own motor. By the way, what's the big deal with all these pimped up looking utes?!? Cool

Dan

Hi Dan, hope your having a good time in brizzy, weathers a bit naff but its the middle of winter at the mo. There are plenty of sports around and heaps of bread vans ( sorry D3+D4), and the FL2 seems to sell well here. The ute thing is mainly tradies utes, they luv em. If you go to any new development theres heaps of them. Some of the commodore V8 utes go well!!

cheers

Hi Mick, Yes there 18" I like the rims but theres not alot of choice with tyres over here for that size, ended up putting a set of pirrelli scorpion ATR on a couple of weeks ago. Seem pretty good so far and hope for good mileage as its mostly gravel roads around here.

cheers

You just cut and paste the BBC code under each photo: Like this! We visited oz last year and found Range rovers REALLY expensive. Are they still extortionate prices or have they levelled out?

Cheers Neil, yeah not bad really - and the weather has been pretty kind so far. We're based out of North Lakes primarily and have been for a nosey up Sunshine coast; Bribie Island; Mooloolaba; Maroochydore; Glasshouse Mountains and wandered into Bris-Vegas for a few drinks with a good mate on Saturday. Also had a mooch about Sydney last week which was worth a visit!

Saw more D3 than anything else, followed by RRS and Defender - only a couple of FL2 and FF though.

Can see why the tradies go for utes: practical in that sense I suppose - just baffled by the fact that they seem to be our equivalent to the Vauxhall Nova/Corsa! Laughing

Thanks for the kind reviews guys,

Hoppy, yes they are still expensive but theres not many around so I think its supply and demand, when I was looking a few months ago there was a choice of about 12 second hand in the whole country. I ended up buying this in sydney and getting it freighted up to qld. You really have to be an enthusiast!!
I paid about 25K sterling (44K aus ) if that gives you an idea.

cheers

Hi Dan, there would be a few utes in north lakes !!! The glass house mountains are nice, we wanted to move up there but its just a bit far to commute so we ended up in the gold coast hinterland,, lovely spot. Did you have a drink in o'malleys in queen street? our lad works there and I was in a terrible state after the everton/roar game 2wks ago, getting to old for that malarcky.
Your spot on with the corsa thing as they drive the same and have the same outlook on life Shocked
Hope you enjoy your stay in QLD

cheers

Yeah, Glasshouse Mountains were lovely, and with some nice looking modern builds there - managed to catch them in between showers! Re: O'Malleys, we didn't drink in there but walked past on Sunday whilst heading up Queen St Mall for some breakfast. Had a few in the Portal on Astor Terrace, then ventured down to the Riverside Prom and ate in the Pig & Whistle Embarassed food was pretty crap! Ended up in The Exchange down opposite The Victory which was OK, but nothing special.

I'll keep an eye out for the Rangie when next around Brisbane/Gold Coast area Thumbs Up

Didnt it leave holes in the bumper when it was removed?

Why did you remove it?
