Everybody hates range rover drivers!!!

Hello guys,

Why will no one let me out at junctions? Thank me for letting them through, I even had an old man give me the w#%€^r sign while he was stood at the traffic lights.

I thought it was me at first and I was imagining things, I drive about 45000 miles a year for work in our company vans and cars and have no problems but as soon as I get in the range the whole world treats me like saddam Husain!!!!!

Then I joined another forum and found the reason they have threads for I hate range rover drivers!!!!!!

Someone tell me it's me and I'm going mad otherwise the range will have to be sold!

I tend to get respect most of the time. I get let out of junctions. Not all the time.

Perhaps the full fat gets tarred with the rrs brush, as most people I know that are not into cars, can't tell the difference unless they are side by side.

The press doesn't always help.

Still, if it's good enough for her majesty........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Must say that I've been surprised at the amount of people who regularly extend courtesy to either of us when driving this car which, in my experience, doesn't happen when driving German marques, as one example.

I actually think that most people seem to have some curiousity for and perhaps even quite respect the traditional Range Rover?

That's what I thought, but if I'm in one of the vans people will slow down to let me out, flash me to say thanks, everybody seems to be a lot friendlier.

Perhaps people just don't like green, I was even thinking of changing the vans to green when we replace them, I will definitely have to rethink that Mr. Green

Its all relative to be honest, some people just cant see further than there tiny bonnets of there cars, would you get the same if you where driving an Aston Martin one 77? I would guess so, don't sell the FF just ignore them and smile Smile If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

It's probably a bit of the green eyed monster, I used to get good and bad when I was driving my disco, when I drive my smart car people just ignore or bully me until they realise that the smart car is just my work tool and gives way to nothing Laughing 2005 Range Rover Vogue with Supercharged Accessories

It's a shame that people are that way I had put it down to me going mad but when you read the threads over on the mercedes forum they have a genuine hatred for all range rover drivers!! I drive both Marques of vehicle and my driving style is no different in either vehicle but I get a no grief in the merc. The missus won't drive it as she can't be bothered with the hassle. Off to the vauxhall and ford showrooms in the morning Very Happy

I didn't have that problem although recently while driving on the highway approaching roadwork and having to slow down to 70 Km/h and all moving to one lane, some young mentally disfunctional youth in a BMW 5-series Touring decided to cut me off and throw their car in front of mine, they were approaching with about 110 Km/h, while behind me there were not any vehicles for about 400 meters...!!

They just didn't want to drive behind the FF and rather try to push and force me to brake and move over which I didn't. Luckily for them they were able to hit their brakes before hitting the roadwork sign, move in behind me and then the fun started... They were giving me the headbeams, drove from left to right, threatening to hit my bumper, etc. Then they, while still only one lane was the designated lane, moved next to me on the right side while the driver and passengers started to scream at me with the window open, making threats, balding their fists, threatening to hit the FF while steering their car towards the FF, etc. I briefly looked to the right, didn't blink and looked forward again... OK, that Censored them off even more... Twisted Evil

Anyway, like I started, never had a problem before since I have the FF until this incident...

On the other hand, my wife constantly has the problem other drivers think she is driving with the headbeams at night and then start to signal her while she's not doing anything wrong. She really gets Censored about it and keeps asking me to adjust the headlights. I keep telling her this is something the FF does automatically and she should ignore them or give them the headbeams if they are asking for it...

Other then that no issues... I'm a relaxed driver in the FF and will give people right of way when they have it... NOT when they take it and don't have the right... Whistle Mike.

Try getting respect at junctions with a Bentley Conti GT... someone I know who owns a couple of nursing homes says it's the "worst" car he has ever bought and has since hooked it for a L405 Rangie and tells me it's good just to blend in with the crowd Laughing Laughing Laughing The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

The press has a lot to answer for in the "hate campaign". Regularly referred to as Chelsea Tractors etc, they have fueled the fire, and some articles in motoring press often refer to FF drivers of middle age who's station in life rhymes with banker. Whistle
It only seems to be in towns the problems arise, and usually from Censored in Lycra riding the latest light weight sports bike, fairly obvious by the figure, that they don't ride that often Thumbs Up
In the country, they are respected for what they are and do, often covered in mud and towing something other than a caravan Thumbs Up
What the press forget to mention is we buy these for a reason other than to flout our wealth, we pay £495 a year for road tax, pay more fuel duty to fill up and although tall, take up no more space on the road than my £130 a year to tax L200 work horse. These cars aren't fast, usually not driven like they have been stollen unlike some other brands, and carry five adults in extreme comfort and safety.
