Tyre Wear - Where?

Hi all,

Do the front tyres wear down quicker than the rears? and if so, by what ratio?

Trying to even out the wear so I can get them all at the point of replacement at the same time as I want to shift away from the high priced - quick wearing Pirelli Scorpions and on to some that will give oodles of miles of life.

Thanks

My TD6 seems to wear evenly, but then it's driven gently. Smile

My fronts outlasted my rears by years due to worn out bushes and misalignment. Now this is sorted they all appear to be running out at the same speed (being constant 4x4 things should even out) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

My Nexen HP's are wearing beautifully even all round. After some early dramas down to faulty replaced tracking arm I can report the Nexens are a really good tyre. They have a wear rating of 460 compared to the Pirelli which have 400 rating so should last longer and at 100 per corner that cant be bad. In the US they offer a 60000 mile wear warranty on Nexen HP'S. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I just rotate.

I have Michelin Diamari's for the summer & Vredestein Wintracs for the winter.

There's never more than ˝mm in it when I change them, so put the lower on the rear & it seems to even out.

Hey, I'm not as bad as Stan and I have another car to race around in - or a motorcycle. Laughing

Actually, I have no idea how Stan drives. Stan, are you a boring driver?

On RR I buy in the fronts are normally slightly more worn than the rears especially the front edges and especially passenger side and especially Continental Cross Contacts... Twisted Evil
